I have been using custom earplugs by Westone with ER-25 Filters in both ears since playing violin in rock bands decades ago. The reduction of ambient noise simplifies and streamlines into deeper listening with heightened awareness of intonation, rhythm, dynamics and articulation. Extra bonus is preserving my hearing for more decades of violin playing. I keep a new pair of filters ready for replacement due to age, humidity or temperature to ensure continuity with my musicmaking.
