Great hearing protection

Violinist Ear Protection

I have been using custom earplugs by Westone with ER-25 Filters in both ears since playing violin in rock bands decades ago. The reduction of ambient noise simplifies and streamlines into deeper listening with heightened awareness of intonation, rhythm, dynamics and articulation. Extra bonus is preserving my hearing for more decades of violin playing. I keep a new pair of filters ready for replacement due to age, humidity or temperature to ensure continuity with my musicmaking. My highest recommendation for all string players to invest in custom earplugs with ER-25 filters.

Good but pricy

My last pair worked well but I had no idea these cost so much. Still, protecting your hearing is important.

Works great but…

Great product, although they seem to fall out of the earplugs too easily. I’ve lost them twice, since they’re tiny, and having to pay $40 each time seems rough.

Sounds good but expensive and fragile

These sound great when used with a custom plug, but are very expensive considering it's size and build quality. All seem to eventually break along the seam between the filter part and the plastic piece with the nub that snaps into place. Now having to order my 5th one...
